Acid Gas / CO₂ Removal Units


1.Product Overview

Acid Gas / CO₂ Removal Units are packaged systems designed to remove acid gases such as hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and carbon dioxide (CO₂) from natural gas streams.

These units are widely used in natural gas processing facilities to improve gas quality, meet pipeline or LNG specifications, and protect downstream equipment.

 

2.Function & Purpose

The primary function of acid gas removal units is to reduce the concentration of H₂S and CO₂ in natural gas.

By removing these components, the system helps prevent corrosion, improve combustion performance, increase calorific value, and ensure compliance with gas quality standards required for transmission, liquefaction, or end use.

 

3.Typical Configuration

Acid gas and CO₂ removal units are typically supplied as skid-mounted packages based on chemical absorption technology.

A standard configuration includes an absorber column, regeneration system, circulation pumps, heat exchangers, and associated control and monitoring instruments.


The most commonly applied process uses amine-based solvents such as MDEA or MEA.
